Bill Nowlin

Bill Nowlin is based in Austin, Texas, and became a full-time photographer
following his 25 successful years in the high-tech business world. In college
Bill focused on engineering, and it is photography's unique pairing of precision
technology and creative freedom that appeals to both his scientific nature
and his love of art, making photography a life-long passion.
Bill works in color and black and white with formats ranging from 35mm
to 4x5. From the character of the American West to the timeless scenes
of the world's earliest civilizations, Bill often spends months at a time
traveling in order to study the subtle nuances that make these locales
memorable and beautiful. His carefully crafted prints are made using the
same standards of precision that drove the success of his engineering
career. Using both traditional wet darkroom and the latest digital imaging
technology, all prints are processed to exacting, archival standards.
Bill sometimes prints up to 40x50 inches to complement the scale and effect
of the scenes he photographs.
